Privacy
Here you can find out which personal data we process when you use this website, and what rights you have.
1. General information
We take the protection of your personal data seriously. We treat it confidentially and in line with data protection law (above all the GDPR) and this privacy policy. Personal data is any data that can identify you personally.
Please note that data sent over the internet (for example by email) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
2. Controller
The controller responsible for processing data on this website is:
Rechte der Natur e.V.Karl-Keil-Straße 33d08060 ZwickauIf you have questions about data protection, reach us at info@rechte-der-natur.org. If you want to send us something securely, please write to us by post.
3. How long we keep data
Unless this privacy policy names a more specific period, your personal data stays with us until the purpose for processing it no longer applies. If you make a justified request for deletion or withdraw your consent, we delete your data, unless we have other legally permitted reasons to keep it (for example retention periods under tax or commercial law). In that case we delete it once those reasons no longer apply.
4. Hosting and server log files
When you visit this website, the server it runs on automatically records general information (server log files): for example your browser type, operating system, the page requested, the time and your IP address. This is technically necessary to deliver the website to you correctly and to run it securely.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is presenting our website reliably and securely.

5. Transfers to third countries
We may use services from companies based in the USA or other third countries. Your personal data may then be transferred to and processed there. A level of data protection comparable to the EU is not necessarily guaranteed in those countries.
6. Cookies
This website sets a single cookie: "rdn_intro_seen". For one year it remembers that you have already seen the short intro animation on the home page, so it doesn't play on every visit. It only contains the value "1" and is not passed on to third parties. We don't use cookies for statistics or advertising.
You can set your browser to tell you when cookies are set, allow them only case by case or refuse them in general, and delete them automatically when you close it. Without the cookie, the intro animation plays on every visit.
7. Visitor statistics with Vercel Web Analytics
To understand which content works, we use Vercel Web Analytics by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. It records the page you visit, the page you came from, your country, the type of device, your browser and your operating system.
Vercel Web Analytics sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. To count visits, Vercel turns your request (including your IP address and browser) into a value that can't be reversed (a hash), which expires after a day. So we can't recognise you across several days or across other websites.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to improve our website and reach more people for the rights of nature. Vercel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

8. Fonts
The fonts on this website are delivered together with the website. No connection is made to Google Fonts or other font providers.
9. Enquiries by email
If you email us, we process your details to handle and answer your enquiry. Because of statutory retention periods, we keep them for three to eleven years as proof. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual relationships, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
10. Donations
When you donate, we use your contact and payment details to process the donation and to look after you as a donor. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for the pre-contractual or contractual relationship and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for any processing beyond that.
If you donate with PayPal, we send you on to PayPal's website, passing on only the amount, the currency and the purpose of the donation. You complete the donation on PayPal. We don't receive your account details; we are only told that the payment went through. PayPal's privacy policy applies.
11. Forms and links
The signature form on the home page is currently a preview: it doesn't send any data. You sign officially on the European Commission's page.
We send the newsletter with Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, 106 boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France). When you sign up, your email address is sent to Brevo and stored there. You get an email to confirm your sign-up (double opt-in); only then do you get the newsletter. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it any time with the link in the newsletter or by emailing us, and we then remove your address from the list. Brevo's privacy policy also applies.
This website doesn't embed content from other providers: no videos, maps, analytics tools or social media plugins. Links to other sites, such as Instagram, LinkedIn, X, WeAct, Signal or the European Commission, are plain links. Only when you click one do you leave our website, and that site's privacy policy applies.
12. Data security
This website is delivered over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). You can tell by the padlock in your browser's address bar. Your data is encrypted on its way between your device and the server.
13. Your rights
You have the right at any time to:
- access the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR)
- have your data deleted ("right to be forgotten", Art. 17 GDPR)
- restrict processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
You can object to the processing of your data for advertising at any time without giving reasons. You also have a general right to object (Art. 21(1) GDPR); in that case, please give your reasons. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.
The easiest way is to write to us at info@rechte-der-natur.org. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
